MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL REVIEW

i don't think it's any secret that i suffer from dry hair (bleaching will do that to you!). lately, i've been incredibly lazy, but today i'll be reviewing one product that saved  my hair - healing oil treatment by macadamia natural oil!

sadly, i ran out of my bottle last month, but plan on repurchasing asap. i got my product from online shopping x, and was pleasantly surprised. with a name like that and such low prices, it seems a bit sketchy, but they are actually legit and ship at a decent speed!

onto the review! n__n

price: 3/5. for roughly $38, 125ml isn't cheap. HOWEVER, the product is so good, and i probably use more than others as my hair is lady lovely locks' evil cousin - thick, waist-length, and prone to frizziness. eventually i had to learn to use rather sparingly and concentrate more on problem areas.

texture: 5/5. WOW. for an oil, this calms down very very quickly. my hair drank it all up! there was no greasy leftover. the liquid itself is not too thick and glides easily through your hair.

scent: 3/5. i have mixed feelings. i think it smells absolutely DELICIOUS (like honey-roasted macadamias) ... but it made my eyes watery and my nose a little sniffly because it was so strong. you can fill a room with this scent!

effectiveness: 4.5/5. i didn't give it a perfect score, because i haven't tried enough oils to compare. i've only ever used a sunsilk cream treatment which didn't really do anything. compared to that, this thing is heaven-sent. it minimized the frizz and made my hair so yummy and soft. i say minimized because i think my hair will always be a little frizzy just because of genetics, but it did the best of any other hair product i've used, PLUS added a lot of shine!

how i used it:
1. shampoo, condition, rinse.
2. IF blowdrying, apply afterwards. work through hair using fingers. NEVER apply to scalp - concentrate on ends and problem areas.
3. IF drying hair naturally, apply while damp/towel-dried. work through hair using fingers. NEVER apply to scalp - concentrate on ends and problem areas.

overall, i give it 4/5 stars <3

BOO!

so today i did a little voluntary questionaire here! i thought it was pretty fun and decided to paste a little bit of my answers (:

  • How did you discover Gyaru?
  • Through the makeup! My friend bought a pair of circle lens and I was intrigued, and started googling more about gyaru

  • What is your favorite substyle?
  • Onee gyaru - especially mode gyaru!

  • What are your favorite brands?
  • I'm still discovering the Japanese brands, but my western brands are Celine, River Island, Ferragamo, House of Harlow, Lucy in the Sky, and Asos.

  • Do you wear makeup everyday? If yes, what kind of makeup do you usually use?
  • Every time I go out, I wear lashes, eyeliner, eyeshadow, brow liner, blush, concealer, powder foundation, lip liner, lipstick and sometimes gloss.

  • What is your skincare routine?
  • Purity by Philosophy face wash, soft face towel to exfoliate sometimes, and cocoa butter lotion or extra virgin olive oil to moisturize. 3x a week I'll do an egg white mask, and I use diluted tea-tree oil to treat pimples.

  • What is your haircare routine?
  • Sunsilk volume, blowdry, then Macadamia Oil on the tips.

REVIEW - MAGIC MAGIC LASHES & GEO BERRY HOLIC XTRA IN BROWN

hi! today i'll be reviewing two things that i'm wearing in the photo above - magic magic lashes gorgeous series in w-03, and geo berry holic xtra in brown. <3 both bought from eyecandys.com!

i LOVE these lashes. to date, they're my favourite! i love the cut/style, i love how full they are. the price is pretty good for such good quality - $15 for 8 pairs.

comfort: 8/10. while these aren't super silky i feel nothing on my eyes comfort, they still feel pretty good and more comfortable than others i've had. as long as you use good glue, you won't have a problem.
volume: 10/10. amazing! natural but still full. they could probably pass off for someone who was VERY lucky and has naturally long lashes then primped the f@*& out of them :)
style: 10/10. so in love with it. i love the small gaps in between the thicker sections, it makes the lash easier to maneuver/bend.

brown, you say? these look way more like green/hazel (no filters used on the lenses in this photo). but - that's exactly the colour i wanted, as i find that most green lenses look quite unnatural on my dark dark dark brown eyes (:

comfort: 9/10. i would have given these 10 if i never felt them in my eye, but there are times where i can feel them. HOWEVER i could wear these 6-7 hours straight with no eyedrops just fine, and that's pretty awesome.
size: 10/10. i really love how big it makes my eyes, without having a huge thick ring! the diameter is 15mm.
design: 9/10. can you tell that these are my favourite lenses yet? i love the pattern and the way that the green meets the mustard/gold. it looks more unnatural with flash but without it, it looks pretty natural and light. my only gripe would be maybe more seamless bending.
colour: 5/10. just what i was looking for - a hazel kind of green. for me, that's a 10/10, but because it's labelled as brown, i gave it a 5. these lenses do NOT look brown, so be careful, if you're actually looking for something chocolatey or beige, don't get these. but the colour turns up beautifully on my eyes - it's surprising how light it makes my normally black looking eyes.

eyecandys.com service: 10/10. amazing. there's a reason i keep buying here. the shipping is FREE! and it's also very fast for free shipping. it only took a little over a week for me. packaging was cute, it all comes with a free lens manual and schedule card so you can keep track of when to throw the lenses out! nothing was broken/missing. thanks, eyecandys!

SIMPLY GLITTER

it's sad that during party season, i find myself without the tools to create amazing abstract artworks of nails! at 3am last night (while watching full metal alchemist... LOL), i decided to give my poor little neglected nails some love. this is a very, very simple look that will take you ten minutes maximum! you will need:

1. metallic pink nailpolish

2. metallic beige nailpolish

3. gold glitter nailpolish

these were just nailpolishes laying around in my room! told you it was easy. you could use any colour, as long as you have a glitter one that can also serve as a topcoat.

1. using the metallics, alternate the colours with different nails. for example, i have two pink nails on my left hand, and only one on my right. my ring finger on my left has beige with pink tip (: get creative and/or random, haha.

2. paint at the maximum, two coats of the polish. only two because too much will make it easier to damage later, plus it'll already feel quite heavy once you start to put the glitter on! if the colour doesn't look solid after two coats, you might need a stronger polish.

3. if you want, stick a rhinestone or two during this step while the polish is semi-dry! i just used one on my ring finger.

4. glitter time! paint one coat generously over your nails, including the rhinestones! this will help seal them.

5. if the glitter is too widely spread and you want a more intense look, paint another coat! it's up to you to paint 3 coats, but again i prefer 2 so your nails don't feel too heavy (this is a light, simple look!)

and.... voila! set, dry, enjoy! simple, cute and easy!

STARRY EYED - FAVOURITE GYARU MODELS!

Sayoko Ozaki
Birthday: December 20, 1989
Height: 160

she is so stunning! the faces she pulls makes me laugh and give her a lot of personality, i think :). i love her bone structure and how she can pull off some really extreme lenses. i think she has a particularly exotic look - some photos i think she almost looks like some filipinas i know!

 Shizuka Muto

although ageha isn't always my cup of tea, shizuka muto was the very first model who caught my eye. that angelina pout! i think she does sexy/elegant so effortlessly. classic beauty <3

Remi Sakamoto
Birthday: November 3, 1989
Height: 158cm

Gyaru isn't exactly known for being natural, but Remi Sakamoto is one of the most natural looking beauties I've seen in any Japanese magazine. There's no mistaking what ethnicity she is and I think it makes her stand out even more. And her skin is incredible! I also think her cheeks are adorable.

xx!

STORE INSPIRATION - LUCY IN THE SKY

this is EXACTLY the kind of look i'm going for. similar to the last jelly post - still girly and pretty, but with a hint of edginess. i love the cinched waists, the blouses, the patterns and the florals, but i'd also love to either: [a] edge it up with some leather boots & jackets, or [b] go a little more classy/minimal (designer clothes & handbags). here's an amazing store for [a] - it really mixes that kind of cute/sexy with edgy!
the store is called lucy in the sky and while they're aussie based, the shipping is only $15 worldwide!

MAGAZINE INSPIRATION - JELLY

just thought i'd post some scans of styles that inspire! none of these belong to me btw - found on tumblr & google search.

BLING BLING!

first real post!

earlier this year, i bought my first bling phone case - and i've been hooked ever since. it's also extended to lots of other things! although i'm nowhere near a decoden expert, i do love making sure that certain colours reflect in the packaging that i choose. i also enjoy function over form when it's absolutely necessary.

mostly, i love pastels, with different shades of pinks, blues and purples. i love anything sparkly, even if it's small!

i've linked to where i bought each item. all except the juicy phone accessory were purchased on ebay. i really, really love simple and pretty d.i.y projects. the jelly cases don't really count as one though, LOL. mostly they're for organizing - pink is for camera, hot pink is for phone, and blue is for my ever-growing collection of USBs (i have like... 200 gb worth of USB space which is good because i'm a virtual pack rat).

here's a closeup of my phone:

super happy that juicy couture starts with a J, haha. xx

HI!

hi everyone!

you can call me j, or jerisa. i'm just a girl interested in gyaru, and in love with all things fashion! i live in australia and do lots of creative things to pass the time. i'm primarily interested in oneegyaru, and this blog will document my journey into it <3.

my interests aside from fashion are:

writing, reading, travel, singing, decoden/bling, manga/anime, shopping, philosophy, topology, photography, design, and different cultures!

my favourite japanese fashion magazine is jelly. <3

i'm full of contradictions, but i'm learning more and more about myself every day.

feel free to bookmark and say hi!
